Commercial Grade Item Dedication (CGID)
Commercial grade item dedication in accordance with KEPIC QAP-1, KINS-N17.12, Nuclear Safety and Security Commission Notice 2014-80 and EPRI NP-5652
The item dedication refers to the procedures and actions to convert commercial-grade items to nuclear safety-grade items by adding quality activities to demonstrate the suitability of essential properties related to nuclear safety functions to the standard quality activities for CGI so that commercial-grade items supplied by companies that have not been qualified according to the nuclear safety grade quality assurance standards can be used as nuclear-safety-grade items.
Overview
YPP strictly manages nuclear safety-related items according to the NQAP (National Quality Assurance Program) based on KEPIC QAP-1, QAP-2. 2.14, KINS/RG-N17.12 and EPRI NP5652. Item dedication is carried out by professional engineers and test/inspection personnel certified by rigorous evaluation, and if necessary for commercial-grade item dedication, reverse engineering and equipment qualification are conducted in cooperation with partner companies.
